Bishop Cotton School Creates History at the Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton Memorial Inter-School Soccer Tournament

Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, created history by emerging as Champions of the Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton Memorial Inter-School Soccer Tournament, following four days of spirited competition, exceptional football and exemplary sportsmanship.

The tournament brought together young footballers in a celebration of skill, determination and the true spirit of the game. Throughout the four-day event, teams competed with great enthusiasm, making the tournament a memorable sporting occasion.

The Opening Ceremony was graced by Mr. Ranjit Bajaj, a celebrated name in Indian football, whose presence added immense prestige to the occasion and served as an inspiration to the participating players. Mr. Bajaj also graced the Semi-Final, encouraging the young footballers and witnessing the competitive spirit that defined the tournament.

The grand finale saw Bishop Cotton School take on Genesis Global School in a thrilling contest. Displaying remarkable determination, discipline and teamwork, the BCS team rose to the occasion and emerged victorious, securing the championship and adding another proud chapter to the School's illustrious sporting legacy.

The Grand Final was honoured by the presence of Col. Aditya Verma, presently Deputy Commandant, NCC Himachal Pradesh. A highly decorated military officer and recipient of the Sena Medal, Col. Verma has served in several challenging assignments, including in Kashmir, Assam and Nagaland. He has also served with the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in Lebanon.

Col. Verma's presence at the School carried a special significance for the BCS community. A proud Old Cottonian of Lefroy House from the Batch of 1991, he returned to his alma mater as a distinguished military officer whose journey reflects courage, service, leadership and commitment.

From the opening whistle to the final celebrations, the Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton Memorial Inter-School Soccer Tournament was a magnificent celebration of football, camaraderie and sportsmanship.

As the tournament drew to a close, Bishop Cotton School stood tall as Champions—a historic triumph that will be remembered as another proud milestone in the School's rich sporting legacy.
