Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, successfully hosted the 13th Diocesan Games 2026, welcoming nearly 400 student-athletes from 14 diocesan schools across North India, along with more than 30 teachers, coaches, and officials.

Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, successfully hosted the 13th Diocesan Games 2026, welcoming nearly 400 student-athletes from 14 diocesan schools across North India, along with more than 30 teachers, coaches, and officials. The two-day event celebrated sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition.



The Games were inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Monaj Charan, Bishop of the Diocese of Amritsar, who graced the Opening Ceremony as the Chief Guest. Following an impressive March Past, the athletes' oath, and the hoisting of the Diocesan Games flag, he formally declared the Games open and encouraged participants to compete with integrity and determination.





Competitions were held in Athletics, Table Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball, and Kho Kho. Bishop Cotton School emerged as the Under-19 Boys Athletics Champions, while Auckland House, Baring School, Batala, Day Star School, Manali, The Mallinson School, and St. Paul Senior Secondary School also secured top honours. Ashwin of Bishop Cotton School and Kritika of St. Paul Senior Secondary School were among the championship's Best Athletes.



The Closing Ceremony was graced by Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, Chief Executive and Secretary, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), who presented medals and trophies to the winners and appreciated the school's excellent organisation. The championship concluded on a memorable note, reinforcing the values of friendship, discipline, and sporting excellence.
