"Facta Non Verba - "Deeds Not Words""
Viceroy of India
1899 - 1905
Curzon House was named after Lord George Viscount Curzon, Viceroy of India from 1899 to 1905. He was the eldest son of Rev. Alfred Curzon and married Mary Leiter in April 1895. In 1904 he returned to India leaving his wife in England; in early 1925 he fell ill at Cambridge and died in London on 20 March.
The first House Captain was F.V.V.G Rossetti in 1909, who later served on the school staff from 1923 to 1926. The first House Master of Curzon House was H.J. Ford in 1919.
The longest-serving House Master was A.C. Advani (1954–1963), while M.E.O. Campos and Jal Boga each served as House Captains for three consecutive years.
A timeless melody celebrating our heritage and unity
We Curzon boys in brotherhood, In Cotton's glorious school. We trust in God's unfailing love, That shields us from above. To stand upright in life's long flight, Our motto steers us right. We trust in deeds, no words in vain, And pride and honour gain.
We come from North, East West or South, Fair, dark or fat or thin. Curzon is a sporting house, No matter lose or win. Of courage and integrity, We show our lives to be. The flag we hold aloft is red, Its brightness ne'er will fade.
Sung with pride at house gatherings and school assemblies
