The Old Cottonian Association held their annual lunch at the Delhi Golf Club (Sunday 11th February 2024) where they honoured Mr Anil Mehra’s 30 years of dedication to school as Finance Governor. BCS Director, Simon Weale, awarded Mr Mehra a Spartan club tie and badge and thanked him for his drive in ensuring the continued sporting success of the school – particularly his determination to provide a world class sporting infrastructure. Mr Weale also gave an update on the news from school including the new Cambridge Board accreditation, he also introduced OC Adhiraj Mustafi as the new Head of Music and Performing Arts.
OCs flew in from all over the world to gather at the picturesque location, including the States, New Zealand, Bangkok and Canada. Jaspal Sawhney, the current OCA President, has been working hard with the school’s ‘Infrastructure Committee’ on upgrades, and announced plans for a 165 anniversary event to be held in school, in October 2024. Mr Sawhney also introduced Mrs Deepa Kennedy as the new BCS Alumni Officer. Deepa will gather in the OC batches more efficiently and keep them in touch with the School in order to form a productive Alumni and Development office, with work placements and mentorships for current students.
A golf match had also been organised on the Friday before, which saw a turn out of 28 enthusiastic OC golfers, setting the greens alight with their talents.
Of course, the old boys all sung their School hymn with gusto.
