Brigadier Rohit Dutta, Group Commander, NCC HQ, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla and Col. D.R. Gargey Commanding Officer, Seven HP NCC, Shimla, visited Bishop Cotton School of capital Shimla on Wednesday to review the NCC activities and participated in an inspirational dialogue program with the students. Students, teachers and school management members were seen very excited to see senior army officers. Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Dutta and Commanding Officer Colonel D.R. Gargey, on arrival at Bishop Cotton School, were accorded a warm welcome by the school’s Director Simon Weale, Principal Mathew Prasad, teachers and students. Director Simon Weale and Principal Mathew Prasad thanked both the officers for their inspiring conversation with the students and boosting the morale of the students.
Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Dutta while addressing the students said that the students of this school are enthusiastic. They are inclined towards NCC. They have a sense of discipline. Students joining NCC should get inspiration from successful people. You have limitless possibilities. NCC is the largest youth organization of the country, in which cadets are providing services in every field after getting better training in different provinces of the country. Brigadier Dutta said that you are fortunate that you are developing your personality by joining NCC. During this special visit, Brigadier Rohit Dutta added about the role of NCC, national unity, discipline and various activities and various programs of NCC in the interest of the nation and society, and told that by joining NCC, youth and students can serve the country, the nation and the spirit of the Nation-First feeling is awakened. Brigadier Rohit Dutta said that NCC provides various types of training which include basic military training, map reading, weapon training, and lessons on everyday and common subjects of life. In addition, while developing the qualities of leadership efficiency, health, social responsibility, becoming a good citizen, things about overall personality development are taught to the youth. “You have joined NCC. Make the most of it as you are fortunate enough to be among the selected students”, said Brigadier Dutta.
Brigadier Dutta said that in various departments of the Central and State Governments, priority is given to the students joining NCC. NCC cadets are also given preference in government and private services and prove their superiority, Brigadier Dutta added while addressing the students.
At the end of the program, NCC in-charge Shubham Lama gave a vote of thanks in the school. All the teachers of Bishop Cotton School had a dignified presence in the presence of the program.
