Many congratulations to our Board classes who received their results today. This has been an incredibly difficult year for all school students, but especially so for those taking their final examinations because of the many false starts and changes to the exam process. The boys have had their patience and determination tested to the full. Class XII averaged 89.6%, one of the best ever averages, with Aaftaab Singh Sidhu ‘topping’ the table of results with 95.3%. He narrowly pipped Tanmay Khandelwal who scored 95%. This means that both boys have achieved places to study Law at the University of Durham – one of the top ten universities in the UK. Meanwhile other students will be studying at universities across India and in the USA, Canada and Australia. Class X students also averaged over 89%. Prabhal Partap Singh just emerged as the top performer with 96.8%, but twenty four other boys also averaged over 90% .BCS Director Simon Weale said ‘The circumstances we find ourselves in during the Covid pandemic have forced the boys to be resilient and resourceful. We wish our Class XII boys every success as they go on to the next stage of their lives. These boys are used to living away from the comfort of their homes, they have learned how to look after themselves and each other. They have learned to communicate and to study independently. They have tested themselves time and time again in many different arenas, not least the boxing ring. We will miss them, but we are confident that during their time here they have developed a set of habits and qualities which will hold them in good stead with the challenges that lie ahead. They are now fully fledged members of the global brotherhood of Old Cottonians’
