Bishop Cotton School, Shimla wins First Prize

Bishop Cotton School (BCS) Shimla has won first prize in the festival flower show for the best Shimla Campus garden 2023, run by SAGES (Shimla Amateur Garden and Environment Society) Flower Festival 2023 in their annual flower competition.

Judges from SAGES had visited the campus and recorded the beauty of the many unusual plants and trees that grow in the school and are attended to by an army of malis under the Estates department. The school is celebrating 165 years since it was founded in 1859.

BCS Director, Simon Weale, said: “We are blessed to live in a spacious mountain top campus with clean air, but this is enhanced by the team of gardeners who work so hard and imaginatively to cultivate such beautiful flowers and plants”.

The BCS students, from all over the world, enjoy a spacious and secure 35-acre heritage campus with a forest at the top of the Knollswood Spur with many mature trees and flowers adorning the site. The school was ranked number 1 by EducationWorld for Best Boys Vintage Boarding school for Himachal Pradesh, and ranked 3rd across India.
