During the September break thirty-three lucky BCS footballers got the chance to travel to Singapore and Thailand and play football on an international tour.
Five members of staff accompanied the boys on a 10 day tour from Shimla to Singapore, then onto Thailand. Staying in hotels and mixing the day with cultural city tours together with visiting schools and football clubs the boys got a real taste of living in another country. This valuable experience gave our BCS boys knowledge of travelling, preparing for matches against tough opponents, learning how to operate in airports and cities and getting themselves organised – as well as meeting new friends and different cultures. Eight games were played in total with all players getting a chance to play in the heat.
The Old Cottonians’ Associations also welcomed the football teams to sumptuous dinners laid on in honour of the visit in Singapore and in Bangkok. Thank you to all those generous OCs as these events were also inspirational for our young Cottonians hearing their stories since leaving BCS. Please enjoy some photos from the tour visiting Dulwich College, Singapore pitch, Singapore American School, Singapore Falcon FC & Beyond Social football club Rugby School, Thailand for 2 days and Wellington School, Bangkok. Thanks to all our hosts.
