Bishop Cotton celebrates 164th Founder’s Day, Shimla, and welcomes back OC Politician.
BCS 2023 Expedition team also set off to Mentok Kangri 6200m
Bishop Cotton School, Shimla (BCS) celebrated the school’s 164thFounder’s Day (28 July 2023) marking the legendary school’s proud history for another year with the school community.
Bishop Cotton School, Shimla is ranked No.1 for “Quality in Education” in Himachal Pradesh, in the ICSE Category by our esteemed jury panel for The North India’s School Merit Awards survey conducted by EducationToday. It has also just been accredited as a Cambridge International School.
The Chief guest attending the celebrations was Old Cottonian, Vikramaditya Singh, Member of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, (son of Ex-Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh also an Old Cottonian). Mr Singh joined the school for the wreath laying ceremony and the Chapel service where he gave an inspiring speech about how BCS school has shaped his life in everything he does, he spent twelve years at the school. “When I first walked through the gates of Bishop Cotton School as a young student, little did I know the profound impact it would have on my life. This institution founded on the principles of excellence, integrity and compassion truly embodies the essence of holistic education.”
The School gathering, which also included many Old Cottonians, had a rousing send off for the mountaineering sixth form team, as they set off on the 12 day climb to Mentok Kangri 6200m – as the school’s annual expedition.
Bishop Cotton School is an institution rooted in history and tradition. Over decades, its alumni have included some of the most distinguished men in India and elsewhere.
