BCS holds Big Splash Art Workshop

We were very excited in School to be joined by a large group of eminent artists who came in to show our BCS boys some interesting new painting techniques they will never forget.

The Big Splash Art Workshop at Bishop Cotton School, Shimla

Bishop Cotton School, Shimla (BCS) creative talents were set alight recently when a group of famous Indian artists visited the school to work with the students for the Big Splash Work Shop in the Irwin Hall.  Giant canvases were dusted down and apron’s put on for an evening that had the artists working alongside children helping them to try out new techniques they will remember for the rest of their lives.  The results seen in the images attached.

The inspirational evening was the brainchild of Manav Singh an Old Cottonian who was running a Festival at his Auramah Valley Art Festival near Naldehra, Shimla. Manav wanted to bring the artists into his old school to inspire the current students there.

Manav Singh, Old Cottonian (1990 batch), businessman and Founder of the Imperial Holding Group, said; “The Auramah Valley Art festival is extremely proud to be able to contribute in any way to the young Artists of Bishop Cotton School, Shimla. We believe that each year, if these famous artists can even kindle one young mind, we would have achieved our objective. My gratitude to Simon and Rebecca Weale, Mr. Mathew John and the management of BCS to have allowed us this opportunity.”
