Bishop Cotton School
Alumni
After they graduate the destination for most Cottonians is university. As well as some of India’s most prestigious universities our leavers increasingly look abroad and popular destinations include the USA, the UK, Canada and Australia.
The school has opened up an Alumni office for current students and alumni to keep in touch. We are planning to launch our BCS Mentorship Program which will enable Old Cottonian’s to offer support and work experience in their field. If you are interested in inspiring young Cottonian’s please contact our Alumni Officer on this Email: alumni@BishopCotton.com or contact the school on +91 7807 212 340 (*during work hours).

A wake up call …
The Benchmark of BCS
On our wonderful Bishop Cotton School Simla having reached the 166th milestone in its illustrious history, it is time to reflect on the greatest of legacies this amazing institution has instilled and imbibed in each and everyone of us Cottonians… as we celebrate this momentous occasion and remember our years in school, the buddies we made then… who continue to be even greater buddies today, we all need to look at the changing and challenging times the school faces today..
The school is our bedrock steeped in history, a testament to the world the BCS ethos was, is accepted and engrained in all of us regardless of our creed, regardless of our faiths..
Our Chapel is
“A Heaven of Freedom..”
The disciplines we were tutored in, the mentoring and leadership we received has taken us Cottonians across all borders… along with our careers we established our amazing global network …
As soon as a young Cottonian is handed over his Old Cottonian Tie amongst other accolades, he immediately becomes a senior to the younger set in School..however his true test commences at that point when he casts of his lines, heaves up his anchor from the safe harbour of BCS and commences his own unique voyage.. that’s when the trials and tribulations in the real world unfold …
The world of yesterday was a “ somewhat “ easier world … the world of today and tomorrow is more competitive, fierce, unpredictable and possibly vicious …
The young Cottonians at BCS need to be taught, mentored and prepared…
There is a quote from Africa:
“Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. Every morning a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a lion or a gazelle – when the sun comes up, you’d better be running..”
As we continue to enjoy and delight in wonderful conversations about our time in school… as Old Cottonians we must do our bit, a noble cause for BCS… we should reach out as “mentors for life “ to the youngsters…
Our thoughts, suggestions and outreach on what we can do besides “ mentorship “ in “any vertical” should be assimilated and sent to the group .. thereafter it would be directed to Captain Vivek Bonnie Bhasin who would then see how to dovetail our support for the good of BCS ..
It’s time India and the world realises BISHOP COTTON SCHOOL SIMLA is unique, it is the benchmark for other schools who try to imbibe
but never achieve…
May God Bless our Founder, our BCS, our School Chapel and all us Cottonians spread across planet Earth..
Happy 166th Founder’s Day!

Boarding school life is a special phase. It teaches you to be independent, to fend for yourself and if you make a mistake you have to learn to correct it yourself. It also teaches you determination and makes you an all-round personality. Since each boarding school has different houses there is a strong tradition of intense competition
between these houses, especially in sports. There is also great camaraderie between students as it’s like an extended family. Spending morning to evening together for most part of the year, students especially classmates end up having a special bond for life. All these qualities later contribute in achieving success in life.

BCS believed in me even when I was not sure about what I believed in. That sort of support is special and opened opportunities that I could only dream of.
