Bishop Cotton School, Shimla

Bishop Cotton School is proud to introduce two major initiatives in Academics from 2026; ‘A’ and ‘AS’ Levels for classes 11 and 12, as well the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum for classes 6 to 8 with a checkpoint examination at the end of class 8. These new curricula will streamline the college entry process for boys who are planning to go abroad for their undergraduate studies; and ready juniors for the IGCSE programme starting in class 9, which we have already been running for the last 3 years. A shift back to the CISCE curriculum is possible at any time between classes 6 and 8, or after the IGCSE. The Cambridge programme is a challenging one, that is based on understanding and application, rather than focusing on memory and reproduction of data. In order to facilitate these programmes, we are hoping to bring in some new teachers, and have already started to train our existing teachers for the new syllabus.
