Bishop Cotton School (BCS), Shimla, successfully concluded its 165th-anniversary celebrations with the Old Cottonian’s Weekend 2024 from October 18-20, 2024. The three-day event brought together alumni and dignitaries from across the globe to honour the school’s legacy.

The celebrations kicked off with a music concert featuring renowned singer Akriti Kakar, attended by over 1,000 people in an open-air setup, preceded by the BCS School Band. On October 19th, the audience was treated to a stunning Son et Lumière light and sound show, showcasing rare archival images from the 1880s, and performances by current students.
Henry Jodrell, Great Grandson of the school’s founder, expressed his pride in the school’s lasting legacy, while Simon Weale, Director of BCS, praised the event as a celebration of the school’s enduring values and commitment to excellence.

Bishop Cotton School was founded in 1859 by Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton, a British educationalist who had served as Headmaster at Marlborough College, UK, before coming to India.
